Volunteer.

Volunteer with the Overtown Optimist Club,
Make a Difference.

The unwavering commitment and selfless dedication of volunteers has been the driving force behind our organization’s 30-year existence. Volunteers increase our capacity to engage and drive impact to children and families of Overtown and our surrounding areas. Time is such a beautiful commodity, and we are so grateful for the many hands and hearts who seek to bring positive, life-changing skills to our community. Thank you for your willingness to volunteer and impact the lives of children.

Volunteer, Coach, Instructors

We have a wide array of volunteer services where you talent cab be used. We have a brief survey to collect your hours of availability, as well as to indicate your preferences for age/grade and content area. All tutoring support occurs between the hours of 2:30 – 5:00 on Monday through Friday. 
 
AREAS OF VOLUNTEER SUPPORT: 
  1. Business Development 
  2. Content Creation & Marketing 
  3. Expert Speakers 
  4. Reading within a class 
  5. Culinary within a class 
  6. Tutoring with a class or individually 
  7. Hosting events (A Takeover Event) (includes Easter, Thanksgiving, Holidays, Back to School, End of School, Summer, Spring Break, etc). 
  8. Beautification Project (in class, or facility) 
  9. Collection of School Items for kids 
  10. Athletic Coach (baseball, basketball, football, 7 on 7, soccer, chess, visual arts, performing arts, tumbling, karate, stunt
